PLANS ANNOUNCED FOR NEW TASMAN AIR SERVICE
SYDNEY', This Day (Rec. 1 p.m.). —Sir Leonard Isitt, chairman of Tasman Empire Airways Limited, announces that a new air service between Sydney and Wellington Will begin in the first week of October. It will be operated by Solent flyingboats and will use Evans Bay as the Wellington terminal. At first there will be two flights a week each way. The company will commence a land-plane service between the South Island and Australia about the end of the year, when the work on Harewood airfield, near Christchurch, is completed.
