Russian Tanks In Korea
TOKIO, July 27 (Rec. 9 a , m .). —a tough battle-tested tank used widely by the Russians in World War II is the mainstay of the North Korean armoured forces, said a senior American officer in Tokio today. this tank, the T 34-85, weighing about 30 tons, mounts a longbarrelled 85 m.m. gun, is capable of 30 miles an hour across country and has an operational range of about 200 miles without refuelling. The tank is protected against armour-piercing shells with twoinch plates.
