ARAB COUNCIL DISCUSSES JORDAN’S ACTION
CAIRO, June 12 (Rec 11 a.m.).— The Arab Council tonight decided to refer back to its Political Committee the question of what action should be taken against Jordan, one of the seven members of the Arab League. The council, from which Jordan was* absent today, had met to discuss Egypt’s demand that Jordan be expelled for incorporating Eastern Palestine without league sanction. The powerful Political Committee will meet tomorrow to consider an Iraqi proposal to overcome Jordan’s difference with the league. Egypt’s proposal for the expulsion of Jordan was made at the recent Cairo meeting of the Political Committee. Jordan recently announced that Eastern Palestine had been incorporated in King Abdullah’s small Hashemite Kingdom. This Egypt contends, is contrary to league policy of regarding occupied Palestine territories as trust property until a final settlement of the whole Palestinian problem. Jordan and Egypt are the. only two occupying Powers in Palestine.
