Lecturer For British Council Arrives In N.Z.
AUCKLAND, This Day (P.A.).— Sir Eugen Millington-Drake, a former British Minister to Montevideo and chairman of the reception committee for the 1948 Olympic Games in London arrived by air today from Sydney to lecture for the British Council. “I am very disappointed I could not arrive in time for the Empire Games, which I hear went off very well,” he said. . Sir Eugen will lecture on English prose and poetry. He is vice-presi-dent of the Poetry Society of London. As his original tour was postponed, he has only time to lecture at Auckland and Wellington. ,He has just completed a tour of India, Pakistan, Ceylon, Burma and East Asia, lecturing on behalf of the Royal India and Pakistan Society.
