WAGE CLAIMS SHELVED UNTIL AFTER ELECTION

LONDON, February 15 (Rec. 2 p.m.).—The general council of the Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Trades unions, meeting at York tonight, decided to shelve its claim for £1 weekly wage increase until after the election. The confederation represents 37 affiliated unions with a total membership of about £3,000,000. If granted the claim would cost between £100,000,000 and £130,000,000 annually.
