TRANSFER OF TWO COUNTRY HOTELS: DEALS APPROVED
Two country hotels were the subject of applications to the Westland Land Valuation Committee sitting at Hokitika yesterday. One, the Okarito Forks hotel, was leased by Robert Ford and Co., Ltd, to D. E. Owens, at a rental of £5 a week, the committee approving of this figure. The property, which includes 25 acres of land, has a roll value of £825. The second hotel was that at Dillmanstown which was transferred from J. P. Pritchard to W. A. Barcock for £2OOO.
Other applications approved by the committee included the following:— W. A. Good to A. J. Howat, Hokitika, price £1750. M. E. Taafe to K. T. Batty, South Beach, price £155. M. A. Glen to J. H. Coates, Cobden, price £B2O. An application by S. N. R. McAra to sell a property in Chapel street to the Bank of New Zealand for £3500 was adjourned sine die.
