CHRISTCHURCH, This Day (P.A.). —-'■l have always tried to guard against over-optimism, but nobody who has attended my‘meetings could b.e other than, very optimistic at the outcome of the. General Election,” said the Leader of the National Party, Mr Holland, today, reviewing his ’ impressions of the first half of his election tour. Mr Holland’s itinerary requires him to cover the length of New Zealand twice, and tomorrow he will begin the.second stage when he will leave, by road for Nelson. During the past fortnight he has travelled from Auckland ip the north to Invercargill in the ..south.
■“The attendances at our meetings have been more thqn double those of the other side and the enthusiasm appears quite boundless,” continued Mr Holland, “Without counting chickens before they are hatched, I can say our prospects, have never been ,as good as'they are at this moment.” '
