Their Majesties At Theatre

A packed audience that had paid £20,000 for admission, gave Their Majesties the King and Queen and Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret a tumultuous welcome when they attended a Royal variety show- at the London Coliseum tonight. The King looked remarkably well. People paid 20 guineas for stalls and 80 guineas for boxes. There were scores of men and women in evening clothes standing at the back of the circle. The proceeds of the show will go to the Variety Artists’ Benevolent Fund—London, November 7.
