Labour And The Banks: Nationalisation Plan
PERTH, September 26—Once the Labour Movement had decided as a whole that private banks would be nationalised, they would be and nothing could stop it, said the Federal Minister of Transport (Mr E. J. Ward) at a meeting of trade unionists today. Mr Ward said there were other great monopolies in Australia that should be nationalised. . In future, Australians had to be big enough to allow the Government greater constitutional powers.
