TAYLORVILLE SCHOOL FLOWER SHOW: PRIZES AWARDED

The annual school spring flower show was held in the Taylorville Pavilion last Saturday. Although weather conditions were unfavourable, there was a fine display of spring flowers. The attendance was fair.

Mr R. Butterfield, chairman of the school committee, thanked the exhibitors and the public for their attendance. He presented trophies to the following:— Section A. —Mrs J. White (51pts) Com. trophy; Miss Craig (31 points) Fisher’s trophy. Section B (cut flowers, Stapleton Cup).—Mrs White (22); Mrs F. Hahn (13). Section C (decorative, Butterfield’s trophy).—Mrs White (22), Mrs Fordham (18). Section E (vegetables, Co-op Cup). —Mr Turnbull (28), Mrs Graham (7). Section G (home-produce, Crooks trophy).—Mrs Glenn (58), Miss McNeish (6). Section F (children, T. Morgan’s trophy).—Allison White (15). Children’s School Work (Mrs Coates’s trophy).—Barry Wilson (18), E. Butterfield (10), Barry Hill (8). Children’s Cooking (Turnbull trophy).—Brenda Wiliams (8), Allan Upston (6). The champion bloom was exhibited by Mi’s White.
