RECORD SEASON IN AUSTRALIA: N.Z. ENTERTAINERS

AUCKLAND, This Day (P.A.).— The “Kiwis” company of New Zealand entertainers, which grew from the war-time Kiwi Concert Party, were the finest ambasasdors in Australia this Dominion had had. This statement was made today by Mr E. E. Wahlquist, business manager of J. C. Williamson’s Theatres, Ltd, who arrived in the Aorangi from Sydney today. In April, 1946, he said, the Kiwis had played to 1,750,000 people. Their 114-week season in Melbourne was an Australian record and the company was now. playing to crowded houses in the thirty-fifth week in Sydney.
