INDOOR BASKETBALL Coast Championships
Over 100 players and officials, and nearly 60 spectators were present at the Hokitika Drill Hall on Wednesday when the first West Coast Indoor Basketball championship matches, run under the auspices of the newly formed West Coast Indoor Basketball Centre, were played. The results were:— Women’s Championship Club Team: Togs (Grey) won by beating Hepcats (Brunner) 19-13, and Tikis (Hokitika) ~ Men’s Championship Club Team: Bobcats (Grey) won by beating Hornets (Brunner) 24-11, and Blue Orchids (Hokitika) 21-6. Women's Combined Rep. Team (exclusive of club champion players): Hokitika won by beating Greymouth 27-20 and Brunner 28-9. Men’s Combined Rep. Team (exclusive of club champion players): Hokitika won by defeating Brunner 20-8 and Greymouth 12-10.
