Maryburn 's Prospects Al Wingatui Tomorrow

In a small field engaged in the Ranfurly Handicap at the Dunedin Jockey Club’s meeting tomorrow at-Wingatui, Maryburn would only have-to repeat his Ashburton form to be the likely winner. The Martarma gelding.should be all the better for his race last Saturday and he will be hard to hold off tomorrow. Much interest will be taken in the McLean Stakes, for two-year-olds, Pastel and Brutus being two who already hav<£ shown promise.

Terminus will- make his first appearance in op,en .company in..the October: of ope mile. A. particularlypromising galloper, the Airway gelding-was a winner-over a mile in his last start, beating Personality and Beau Soir, and tomorrow’s company should not be beyond him. Magnaform is probably at his best over a mile, while' Beaumaris will find this race. a good: trial for the. Dunedin Guineas on the second day of-the meeting. Another, Dunedin Guineas candidate in Western Winner, will contest the Telegraph Handicap of six fur-longs,-and the brilliant Haughty, Winner:, gelding will be among the favourites./Duvaals and Gold King, will have: their- share of supporters, while The Hob, a. member of D. P. Wilson’s /team at J Mosgiel, looks particularly well-weighted'at 7.9 for a horse.which ran second, in last year’s/ Steward’s Handicap.and then went:on.to. beat a- high class sprint field; at Auckland. ■

Marut, winner of a double at the Westport meeting, is topweight with 9,2 in i the Clarendon Handicap, A good-stayer he. cannot be. discarded easily. Dadis Pal and Show Boy are two. other, good staying hacks.
