The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— Situation: A ridge of high pressure is over the North Island; a cold front is moving north-east over the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Fresh west to winds soon prevailing weather unsettled with Occasional rain, but a temporary improvement tonight; temperatures becoming cooler. i Further outlook: occasional showers. LOCAL RECORDINGS The following recordings were taken at Karoro Meteorological station at 9 o’clock this morning:— Barometer 29.83 in (lOlOmil) Minimum air temp 49.9 Maximum temp past 24hr 57.4 Minimum grass temp 37.8 Humidity 93 Wind North (moderate breeze) Sky Cloudy Bar ; Considerable swell Rainfall yesterday 1 Nil Rainfall to date this year 68.24 in Sunshine yesterday 6.7 hr Sunshine to date this year .. 1175.9 hr The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 21ft Oin.
