KARORO BOWLING CLUB HOLDS ANNUAL SOCIAL

The Karoro Bowling Club’s annual social and dance, held last night in Harker's lounge, proved most successful. There was an attendance of 150 bowlers, with representatives from almost all West Coast clubs. Mr G. Batty acted as M.C. and Mr N. Shallcrass controlled the competitions which resulted as follows: — Human housey, Miss Inch; bowlingquiz, the ladies; bowling draw, Mrs Bergamini; drinking champion, Mr A. Hughes; doll dance, Mrs G. Batty and Mr B. Knowles; lucky spot dance, Mr and Mrs Ryan; treasure hunt, Miss Dunshea. After supper the president of the club, Mr P. C. Thompson, thanked the patrons for their support and wished all clubs, including the newly formed Dobson club, a successful year. Mr R. C. Mcßobie (past president) then presented trophies, badges, and bars to last year’s successful competitors • as follows:■ — Champion singles, Mr S. Peek; champion pairs, Messrs A. Ramage and L. Mardon; champion fours, Messrs E. Wilson, A. Leopold, D. Binnie and L. Mardon; junior pairs, Messrs R. W. Reynolds and R. C. Mcßobie; junior singles, Mr N. Langbein; colts singles, Mr E. S. Butts. Items were given by the following artists: —Musical triOj Misses S. Watson, D. Gifford and Mr R. Hill and vocal solos by Mrs Haglund and Miss Dunshea. The music was provided by Mr W. Williams.
