SILVER PINE FOUR MILE RIVER WRITTEN tenders will be received by the-Conservator of Forests, Nelson, until 12 noon on WEDNESDAY, October 5, 1949, for the rights to cut silver pine and kawaka on an area of 231 acres in Block X, Waitakere S.D. Tenders are to be based on the upset price of minimum schedule royalty rates of the State Forest Service, and any tenders above that rate are to be expressed as a percentage increase above upset. A deposit of £25 and a licence fee of £ 1 Is must accompany the tender. Royalty will be payable on monthly output. Intending tenderers are expected to visit the locality and satisfy themselves in every particular on all matters relative to the proposed grant of rights and in this connection it would be advisable to consult either the Conservator of Forests, Nelson, or the District Forest Ranger, Westport. . Particular attention is directed to the special conditions concerning the access to the area and to other conditions of the proposed rights. These conditions may be obtained from either the Conservator of Forests, Nelson, or the Forest Ranger, Westport. This is substantially a silver pine operation, but the successful tenderer will be given the right to take such marked trees of species other than silver nine as are on the area and are considered suitable for milling. Trees required for silvicultural purposes or for river protection-will not be marked for sale. The trees available for removal will be marked for removal and permission to mill them will be granted to the successful tenderer after work has been commenced on the silver pine. The purchase price'of these marked trees will be set by the State Forest Service. Successful tenderer has no right to any timber stacked or ready cut. Highest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Tenders are to be enclosed in an envelope endorsed “Tender for the Four Mile River Area.” .
