CHANGE IN PRICE OF BREAD IN ENGLAND
LONDON, September 20 (Rec. 11 a.m.). —The Government announced tonight that the standard loaf of bread will cost s|d. Canada’s ten per cent, devaluation of her dollar has allowed the halfpenny saving on the price of 6d, forecast by Sir Stafford Cripps. It has also lessened the increase in the sterling cost of flour. The Government has instructed millers to restrict flour deliveries until the new prices take effect next Sunday.
