PRICE OF SILVER FIXED IN LONDON
LONDON, September 20 (Rec. 10.30 am.). —The price of silver in London was fixed today, at 64d per ounce for both spot and forward delivery. This compares with the devaluation price of 44’d. This new price is based on the New York price of 73| cents at the new sterling-dollar exchange rate of 2.80 dollars to the pound sterling. The new price is for essential silver for domestic sales. The export prices probably will not be. settled for a day or two. The “non-essential” domestic purchasing price will also take a day or ,so to settle.
