Taylorville Store Sold
Mrs L. R. Bennie applied to the Westland Land Valuation Committee, sitting at Greymouth this morning, for permission to sell a grocery store at Taylorville to Mrs M. A. Glen for £950. The application had been adjourned previously for the production of certified accounts, which were submitted by counsel for the vendor, Mr C, R. McGinley, On the basis of a return of 15 per cent profit on the purchases shown, the goodwill of the property was worth the £3OO sought, the committee indicated afte examining the accounts. Accordingly the sale was approved subject to a reduction in price to £9OO, being £6OO for the land and buildings and £3OO for goodwill.
