TWO KILLED, 34 INJURED IN U.S. TRAIN CRASH
NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (Rec 11 a.m.) —Two people were killed and 34 injured were admitted to hospital, some in a critical condition, when a speeding train of the Southern Railway was derailed today in North Carolina. The diesel engine and four carriages left the line and plunged into a 12-foot ditch. - Most of the passengers escaped serious injury, because four Pullman cars on end broke loose and continued down the line. Two negro cooks were found dead in the wreckage of the dining car, and the most seriously injured were members of the train crew in the engine and baggage car, mail car. and dining car.
