Aluminium Tags?
Described as a “hardy perennial,” the subject of the use. of aluminium, leather, or rubber sprigs was discussed at the weekly meeting of the West Coast Rugby Union. The subject was introduced in the report of Mr L. B. Galbraith who was manager of the West Coast primary schools’ representative team at the recent Nelson tournament. Mr Galbraith reported that several players' in the team who wore aluminium tags had not been permitted on the field by referees at Nelson and that it was necessary to have tfie tags replaced with leather. It was decided to take no action in the matter, one member stating that in his opinion the rubber sprig would even;ually be accepted universally.
