Some fast times were recorded on ihe trial grass at Riccarton yesterday, mainly on account of the frozen state of the .surface following a severe frost, .included .in'the list was Magical, who was given his first fast work ; since being recommissioned .following a short spell, and he strode oyer ’six'furlongs in 1.14 '4-5; the last four in 48'1-5.
