GOLF Greymouth Women’s Club
The Greymouth Women’s Golf Club played the qualifying round for its club championships at Kaiata on Saturday. The following players qualified:—
Senior championship:—Mrs Hooper 88, Mrs Wilkins 92, Miss Taaffe 95. Miss Blair 97, Mrs Hutchison 99, Mrs Chivers 101, and Miss Deere 104. Intermediate:—Mrs Bluett 102, Mrs McCarthy 103. Mrs J. Smith, 103, Miss Munson 104 Miss Hambleton 105, Mrs Mardon 107, and Mrs Batty 108. f Junior:—Mrs McKay 105. Mrs Kit'chingham 105, Miss McKnight 111, Mrs Boustridge 113,.,Mrs Francis 117, 'Mrs Brown 119, Mrs Wallis 121, and Mrs Cunningham 126. The August mid-monthly medal match was played in conjunction with the above. In the silver division, Mrs Wilkins, .92-14-787 was the winner and in the bronze division Mrs McKay, 105-31-74, won on the countback from Mrs Kitchingham, 105-31-74. Both these players reduced their handicaps by one stroke. Next week-end the West Coast championships will be played on the Kaiata links, the finals being played on. Monday. A mixed foursome will also be played on Monday- afternoon.
