Unemployed List In N.S.W.
SYDNEY, This Day (Rec. 1 p.m.).—Today 125,000 workers in New South Wales are still unemployed. It is estimated that, as a result of the present lag in re-employment, national losses • of £4,000,000 in wages and £16,000,000 in production, will be added to the aftermath of the strike. When work was resumed in ' the mines a week ago, 261,000 workers in other industries vyere still idle. This number has been’ reduced by 136,000 and it is expected that all but 50,000 of the remainder will be reabsorbed within three weeks.
