Food Parcels For Britain

WELLINGTON, This Day . (P.A.).—The food parcel postings to the United Kingdom during July amounted to 94,273, representing 1,001,0681 b, said the Postmaster-General, Mr F Hackett, today. Compared with the same month of last year, 118,868 parcels were sent, representing 1,183,0531 b. The number of food parcels posted during the seven months of this year was 422,404, representing 4.383,4911 b. “Compared with the total for the same period last year, this is a decrease of almost 220,000 parcels,” said the Minister. “The decrease is probably due to the practice of sending food to England in bulk for various organisations there.”
