The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— Situation: An anti-cyclone centred over the northern Tasman covers New Zealand; a trough of low pressure is over Tasmania. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Moderate variable winds, turning to fresh northerlies tomorrow; weather cloudy to overcast; scattered showers today and rain spreading from the south tomorrow; temperatures cool. Further outlook: Unsettled weather.
