The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— Situation: An intense anti-cyclone is centred over south-east Australia; a deep depression is south-east of New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Moderate, variable winds; some brief isolated showers tonight; otherwise weather fair to fine; temperatures cold with risk of frost.
