“Every’ Family A House Owner”

LONDON, August 16 (Rec. 10 a.m.). —The Associated Press correspondent at Bonn says the first job of the new West German Government will be “to make every family a house owner.” This statement was made by Dr Konrad Adenauer, chairman of the victorious Christian Democrat Party. The solution of the housing problem was the first real duty of the Bonn Republic, he said. He hoped that a programme could be worked out to rebuild all the blasted cities west of the Elbe river, and added: “Such a giant programme should be shared by both State and private industry.”
