FEWER CASES OF MEASLES

WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).—Cases of measles in the Wellington health district are much fewer than they were a short time ago. An officer of the Health Department said that only one of 16 nurses in the district reported any measles at the end of last week. There were some cases of chickenpox, but not enough to be described as an epidemic. The poliomyelitis epidemic appears to have subsided. The last sign of it was a suspected case reported in June. The officer added; however, that there was always likely to be an occasional case. . .
