Canterbury University College. Resident and non-resident students are catered for and the principal object of the School is to train leaders for music making in the community, whether it be in schools, rural areas, or in industry. It is not essential to have a music degree and amateur performers may apply. Lectures and practical work will be demonstrated in the training of choirs, vocal ensembles, orchestras etc. and choral and instrumental groups will be formed. The school will be under the direction of Professor Vernon Griffiths assisted by Messrs E. Callaway, R. Lilly, J. Ritchie and L. White l and Miss M. Haddon-Jones.
