Car Struck By Train A motorist had a narrow escape when his car was struck by the In-vercargill-bound express near Milburn station yesterday. He was Mr A. Thomson, of Milton. He was not aware of the approaching train until his car was about to cross the line. He just failed to get clear, the engine striking the back of the car, spinning it out of its path, and tearing off one of the rear wheels. The car was severely dented and part of the bodywork was ripped away, but Mr Thomson was unhurt.—(P.A.)
