MANHUNT FOLLOWS PRISON BREAK IN UNITED STATES
NEW YORK, May 20 (Rec 11.45 ; m > —six long-term prisoners at the nate prison farm near Milledgeville, Georgia, shot their way to freedom totay. A prison guard was seriously injured ■vnen one of the fugitives shot him at almost point-blank range with a high.owered rifle. Four other guards were overpowered and their weapons, four automatic shotguns and three revol/ers, were confiscated.
The prisoners then commandeered a truck which they abandoned in Miledgeville -and stole a doctor’s car. A State-wide hunt is now proceeding for he men, who are described as highly iangerous.
