BERLIN TRAFFIC BACK TO NORMAL: NO DIFFICULTIES
BERLIN, May 20 (Rec. 11 a.m.).— Traffic was normal today on the autobahn from the Western zones into Berlin after yesterday’s temporary hold-up. All kinds of vehicles were passing smoothly through the Soviet checkpoint at Helmstedt. Some drivers used the other checkpoint at Oebisfelde, but no difficulties were reported from there. Allied sources, however, suggested that the activity at Helmstedt today was no guarantee that the Russian restrictions had been permanently suspended.
