Mr and Mrs J. Thomas left today on their return to Christchurch. Mrs D. Sullivan, who has been visiting relatives on the West Coast left today on her return to Sydney. Mr G. Jack left today on his return to Christchurch. Mr L.J. Schmitt, of the Government Tcurist Department, who has been visiting the glaciers will arrive in Greymouth this afternoon. Mr and Mrs J. The appointment of Miss L. E. Batty io the teaching staff of the Runanga School and her resignation from the Waitaha School was approved at a meeting of the Canterbury Education Board in Christchurch yesterday morning. Mr and Mrs D. Smith left today

for Christchurch, where they will reside. Mr Smith has been transferred from Greymouth to the Christchurch oranch of Woolworths (N.Z.) Ltd. He was met last evening by the members of the Greymouth Yacht Club and presented with an electric iron.
