Briefly the requirements are as follows:— Every bicycle must be equipped with—■ (a) An efficient brake operating on the rear wheel; (b) A warning bell; (c) A red rear lamp or a red reflector of an approved type; (d) A rear white surface of at

least 12 sq. inches at a place not likely to be obscured. If the bicycle is to be used during the hours of darkness, a lamp showing a white light to the front must be fitted.
