TONIGHT: “If You Knew Susie;' starring . Eddie Cantor and Joan Davis. ‘

Combining laughter with music, romance with satire and starring Eddie Cantor and Joan Davis, the hysterical musical fun film “If You'Knew Susie is showing at the Opera House. The story follows the adventures of Eddie and Joan after they_ retire from vaudeville and settle in Eadie’s ancestral home in New England. Eddie wins the approval of the local bluebloods when he impersonates Paul Revere at the annual festival of the First Families, but promptly loses it when he plans to turn the old mansion into a night club. Dismantling the place, workmen discover a letter from George Washington, thanking one of Eddie’s, ancestors for extra-ordinary services in the Revolution, and granting him 50,000 dollars. After riotously funny complications in Washington, the worried law-makers finally admit that, with accumulated interest, the Government owes Eddie seven billion dollars. When Eddie patriotically cancels the debt, he becomes the country’s hero and is welcomed back to his home by the bluebloods.

With Thunderhead now a hunted raider of the range, the story sweeps through the savage dangers of the rolling ranch country with its wild, fighting horses and maraudingwolf packs, through a series of thrilling and heart-stirring adventures, to the high excitement of the climatic State Fair Harness Race. Through it all runs the tide of human drama and romance in the story of a boy and girl, and of a man whose heartbeat is keyed to the hoof-beat of the racing horses he loves.
