“Mad Parson” Caught
LONDON, May 19 (Rec. 11.30 a.m.). —Police stated today that they believed th,ey had caught Britain’s most elusive lunatic, John Edward Allen, the “mad parson,” who has been at large for two years. Allen, who was found guilty oi strangling to death a baby in 1937, escaped from the Broadmoor criminal lunatic asylum disguised as a parson on July 20, 1947. He is a talented actor and a man of many disguises. When he escaped a suitcase containing seven different theatrical disguises was found to be missing from Broadmoor.
