Broadcasts Of Communion Service After a discussion at the Convocation of Canterbury on broadcasts by the British Broadcasting Corporation cf the Holy Communion service, it was decided not to put to the vote a motion expressing regret at the decision of the B B C to broadcast the service, but there was a wide division of opinion? The view was expressed that casual listening without an attitude of reverence to the communion service was bad publicity, inconsistent with the intense sacredness of the Holy Mysteries. A member of the advisory council for broadcasting said that the council had decided that the broadcasts should continue for a short experimental period. Letters showed that the broadcasts were a great comfort to the sick, and that some communicants who had lapsed had been brought back. He could not imagine that people listened to The broadcasts in a profane fashion, and even if conversation was going on, he did not think there would be any irreverence.—London, May 19.
