A “Haunted” Jacket
A 50-vear-old “haunted” jacket is up; setting a theatrical cast playing m London. The jacket has already had unpleasant effects on two well-known actresses who have had to wear it in the play, “The' Queen Came Members of the cast refused to have the jacket in the theatre after a medium told them it was haunted “by something from the past.” Frederick Piffard,- the producer of the play, said that the deputy-leading lady, Miss Erica d’Foyle, complained of “a feeling of strangulation” when she wore, the jacket. Mr Piffard said that when he induced Miss d’Foyle to put nn the jacket again after the show she immediately went into hysterics. My wife then tried it on. It did not appear to affect her, but when she took it off we,saw what’ appeared to be a number of red fingermarks on her neck,” said Mr Piffard. The leading lady, Miss Thor Hird, said that whenever she wore the jacket she had a feeling that someone .was groping at her neck.—London, April 24.
