R.S.A. And Conscription
The Gisborne Returned Services’ Association, at its annual meeting yesterday, reaffirmed support of the policy of the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association, favouring compulsory national service on a selective basis. The Gisborne Association expressed the view that national service training should not necessarily be. confined to military training. Without specifically mentioning Communism or any other political faith, the meeting endorsed the view of the district executive that the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association constitution and rules provided full authority to deal with any disloyal or subversive individuals among its members.—(P.A.)
