(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. To the exhaustive statistical tables produced in the Arbitration Court today in the course of the hearing of the application for a new wage pronouncement, Mr Justice Tyndall added a little light relief.
“I see.” he said, “that wp drink a gallon of beer for every pound we put on with the bookmakers.’’ ’
Jlis Honor explained that the national consumption of beer was 24,000,000 gallons, and a coincidence was that .£24,000.000 was estimated to pass through the hands of the bookmakers.
