BROWN. —On March 12,1949, at Wellington, Ida Roberta, widow of Charles Henry Brown, in her 83rd year. The funeral will leave the residence of her son, Mr Charles Brown, 120 Blake street, Blaketown, at 10.15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, for a service at the Church of Christ and thence to the Karoro Cemetery. — Sampson’s Funderal Service Ltd.

HASZARD. — On March 10, 1949 at his residence 78 Empire Road Epsom, Auckland. Sidney Fade beloved husband of the late Charlotte Frances Winifred Haszard, in his 93rd year.

HOLMES. —On March 14, 1949, at his residence, Tui street, Kumara, John William, beloved husband of Rachael Holmes, native of Kumara, aged 68 years. The funeral will leave the residence, Tui street at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday) for the Holy Trinity Church, Kumara and thence for the Kumara cemetery.—H. A. Thompson Ltd., Funeral Directors.

SMITH. —On March 13, 1949, at Greymouth, Ellen Catherine, beloved wife of Ernest Smith, Paroa; in her 43rd year; native of Lanarkshire, Scotland.—R.l.P. The funeral will leave her late residence, Paroa at 8.30 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday), for St Patrick’s Church, Greymouth, and thence for the Karoro Cemetery.
