EXTRADITION ORDER: MAN CHARGED WITH FALSE PRETENCES

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 11. An order for the extradition to Australia of an accused charged with false pretences was made in the Magistrate’s Court by Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M. The accused was John Raymond Stewart, aged 30, a telephonist. He was charged with falsely pretending to Eleanor May Ibbotson, on December 29, 1947, at Brisbane, that he was capable of obtaining the lawful release on parole from a State farm in Queensland of Colin Lindsay Ibbotson, and that he required the sum of £5OO as a cash bond to ensure the conditions of the parole, thereby obtaining £5OO with intent to defraud. , 4' zx Detective-Sergeant Madsen, ol tne criminal investigation branch of the Queensland State Police Department in Brisbane, said he knew accused.
