BRITISH ASSETS IN JUGOSLAVIA

LONDON, October 15.
The city editor of the Daily Express says that after 16 months of hard bargaining Britain and; Jugoslavia are about to sign an agreement fixing compensation by Jugoslavia.for British assets seized during the-war. These include lead and zinc mines, thread factories, and an oil refinery. Britain’s original compensation claim was for £7,500,000, and Marshal Tito’s previous best offer has been £2,000,000. Although the final, terms of settlement have not yet been disclosed, it is known that a satisfactory compromise has been reached. It is expected that this agreement will be followed by a British-Jugo- ( slav trade agreement, which has been 1 under discussion for some time.
