PERIOD OF SERVICE: Five years on Active List, followed by five years on R.N.Z.A.F. Reserve. CONDITIONS: Enlistment will be as Cadet Pilot or Cadet Navigator remustering to Pilot IV or Navigator IV. Promotion to Pilot 111 or Navigator 111 will follow period of training. RATES OF PAY: Cadet Pilot or Navigator, 14s per day. Pilot or Navigator, IV, 23s 6d per day. An exception can. be made in this rule if applicant has previous aircrew service in the R.N.Z.A.F. A DDIT.IONAL applications for entry to Training College in 1949 will be received up to -4 p.m. on FRIDAY. OCTOBER 29. Candidates must be at least seventeen years of age on February 28, 1949. The minimum educational qualification for admission in DIVISION A is a pass in the School Certificate or University Entrance Examination. Applications from students sitting these examinations this year will also be considered. An applicant for - admission in DIVISION C must be a graduate of a recognised University or have, as a matriculated student, satisfactorily completed a three years course in Agriculture or Home Science at a College recognised by the University of New Zealand, or have obtained some other educational qualification that in the opinion of the Director of Education is equivalent thereto. Candidates for admission as students of DIVISION C may submit their applications in anticipation of their obtaining a University degree by the time the Training College opens. ALL DIVISION C STUDENTS WILL TRAIN AT THE AUCKLAND TRAINING COLLEGE The’ HOMECRAFT Course is distinct from the Training College Course and from the University Home Science Course leading to a degree or diploma. There are, however, affiliations with both these Courses. Applicants should measure up to the general standards of the other successful candidates and will be selected for their interest in Homecraft subjects. Preference will be given to girls who have taken a good range of Homecraft subjects -at a postprimary school. The minimum educational requirement is a pass in the School Certificate or University Entrance Examination.. Consideration will also be given to applications from SERVICEMEN and EX-SERVICEMEN who hqve had not less than three years’ sound secondary education. Candidates will require to be medically examined by the school Medical Officers and interviewed by the Selection Committee at times to be arranged at convenient centres, due notice of which will be given.
