Proposed Council For Free Czechoslovakia
WASHINGTON, Oct. 13.
Eighteen prominent Czech democrats, representing four political parties, recently met in Washington and drew up a proposed charter for “the Council for Free Czechoslovakia.” The former Czech Ambassador to the United States (Dr Jura] Slavik) announced this today. Dr Peter Zenkl, a former VicePremier, was elected temporary chairman of the council.
Dr Slavik said that about 12,000 Czechs had escaped from Czechoslocakia since the Communists assumed control in February.
