CASE ORDERED TO BE HEARD BY SPECIAL JURY
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Decision was given by the Court of Appeal today in the case in which Cory Wright and Salmon Ltd appealed against the refusal of Mr Justice Cornish to grant an application for a special jury to hear a claim for £6BOO damages by the Akatarawa Sawmilling Company. The sawmilling company claimed for losses allegedly sustained because a diesel engine supplied by Cory Wright and Salmon broke down. The defendants claimed the right that the case be heard by a special jury, but Mr Justice Cornish held that men with mechanical experience were more likely to be found among common than special jurors. The Court of Appeal allowed the appeal from the decision of Mr Justice Cornish and the case will consequently be heard by special jurors.
