WOMEN FAINT AT MURDER HEARING
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Tills Day. Three women fainted this morning while evidence was being taken in the Cranston murder case.
The first witness, Mrs Muriel Duroow, with whom Mrs Cranstan had lived, showed signs of emotional upset while she was giving evidence and as she was escorted from the courtroom by a detective she collapsed. Shortly afterwards two women struggled through the icloselypacked crowd in the public; gallery and fainted at the door. At mid-day the crowd in the court was still undiminished. ‘ An elderly man, v/ho had been standing in front o r the crowd, also collapsed >and was carried out.
