SPAIN WILL FIGHT COMMUNISM, SAYS GENERAL FRANCO

Spain would fight an enemy which attacked neighbouring countries in spite of any ideological differences which those countries might have with Spain, said General Franco, addressing high garrison officers at Seville. “If the Communist hordes advance beyond Berlin, 1,000,000, Spaniards must fight,” he said. . General Franco emphasised that he had spoken before about Communists advancing beyond Berlin. “Those words were unheeded by a world which was not conscious of its new enemy. Several years have had to go by to turn our words into prophecy. ’ General Franco will to-day embark on the cruiser Canarias for Huelva to preside over celebrations marking the seventh centenary of the Spanish navy. ..
