DE VALERA OPENS CAMPAIGN IN BRITAIN FOR UNITED IRELAND
LONDON, October 11
Mr de Valera opened a campaign in Britain against the partition of Ireland with a press conference at Liverpool, at which he said that partition was the one remaining point ofdifference between Britain and Eire. Mr de Valera said that the myth had been carefully propagated since the Government of Ireland Act, 1920, that an area in Ireland wanted to be separated from the rest of the country. He wanted the British people to see the truth, which was that only in Antrim and Belfast was there a local majority against union with Eire. He will travel all .over Britain, speaking at Glasgow next week-end, and later at Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, and London.
